Maison d'Artiste 2026 — the facts
17 to 19 September 2026, 10:00 to 18:00, free entry. NIO House Amsterdam, Leidsestraat 32-34, the former Metz & Co building. Eight floors open, within GLUE Amsterdam Design Route. A festival by MADART Foundation.
Thirty makers: eleven on the sixth and seventh floors and in the staircases, nineteen two floors below in Season 02 GROUND, which stays open throughout. Talks on the second floor, tours through the whole building, a workshop and sound sessions under Rietveld's 1933 glass dome.
The makers pay no participation fee and the Foundation takes no commission on sales. In 1933 Gerrit Rietveld built that dome as an exhibition room; Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe showed their furniture there for the first time in the Netherlands. The name comes from the Maison d'Artiste that Theo van Doesburg and Cornelis van Eesteren designed in 1923 and never built.
