WHAT WE DO

We curate overlooked makers, and give them a stage on landmark locations in Amsterdam.

We finance the exhibition. The maker keeps 100% of every sale. No exclusive contract, no fee to participate — just a room, an audience, and a fair deal.

The system that overlooks these makers isn't broken by accident. Funds finance what institutions already show. Galleries show what is already sold. Somewhere between the two, a whole category of serious, exciting work falls through the cracks — not because it isn't good enough, but because it doesn't fit the boxes the system was built around.

MADART Foundation exists for exactly that gap. We cover production costs, presentation, and a fee for the maker, on landmark locations most of them could never access on their own. In return, we ask for nothing back: no commission, no exclusivity, no say over what they make next.

The architecture, the canal, the history — they communicate a position no brochure can replicate. As visitors move up through the building, they move up through its history: from the ground floor entrance, past a century of design retail, to the fourth floor, where daylight floods in through the Rietveld dome.

Seven floors in total. The Foundation occupies the fourth — a room that already meant something before a single work was hung in it.
